Even a massive robot army must start with one tiny killbot...\nUPDATE: Maximal thanks to all who uploaded pics of their killbots!\nPrint-in-Place sitting robot with articulated arms, legs and a head you can spin and lift from the bottom!\n13 moving parts in total!\nThe head can be spun in place and controlled from between the legs. The head pops down 2mm to reveal the wheel that can turn and sorta bounce it.\nThe arms rotate at the shoulder and above the elbow, and bend 90+ degrees at the elbow.\nThe hands are designed to hold on to a standard pencil (7.5mm).\nThe legs bend in three places, very human-like.\nThe hips move up 3mm to lock in standing position, for stability.\nThe love switch is stuck in ON position, for safety.\nRequired support is included and minimal.\nPlease share pictures if you start your own army! :)\nAnd if you have any issues, let me know in the comments, as I did debug this thing for days and I don't think it has any of the obvious issues PIP things sometimes have.\nInspired by the Maker sitting robot as well as other cool PIP toys (links below).\nI went through about 20 designs (~15 printed), testing hinges, joints and their tolerances, and I even tested a few versions where pressing a button/the head lifted the arms 90 degrees... (eventually worked but was too tall and clunky and also disables free rotation of the arms) Please check out versions 14 and 16 to see what I mean and get ideas, I'd love to see this used more appropriately, maybe not in a robot... To be honest, I'm not very happy with the head mechanism, I'm pretty sure if you're old enough to pretend it's a working robot, you might as well pretend you're not spinning the head with your fingers. Also the joint stiffness or lack thereof depends on material and temperature too much... But I'm moving on, probably to supine robots...\nMaker robot http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:331035\nWip robot http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1134277\nRatz http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1532944\nCrocz http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:941177\netc...\nIf you print it and love it, please do upload a Make and consider tipping! :)\nAlso please check my profile for my Etsy, Pinshape etc...\nPrint Settings\nPrinter Brand:\n Ultimaker\n \n Printer:\n Ultimaker 2\n \n Rafts:\n No\n \n Supports:\n No\n \n Resolution:\n 0.1-0.15\n \n Infill:\n 10-30%\n \n Notes:\n I think 3 shells and 10% is better than 2 shells and 20%+ infill, tho it's only a little faster.\nTo clarify, when I say "no-support" I mean you don't need to add any. Still, each arm has a support I couldn't do without because often one or both arms get knocked over and ruined, in the direction perpendicular to the front. This then allowed me a couple of overhangs along the arm (tho early versions circumvented that).\nBest of luck!
