Print In Place K1 Max 270° Door Hinges w/Door Latch
thingiverse
I've been waiting for a 270° Door Hinge for the K1 Max since I first scared myself that it would shatter if swung to far. The factory design has the screws run right into the frame if opened more than 90°. Metal screws against glass with no articulation spells disaster. When Eric Feliciano remixed the K1 hinge system for the Max, I was very excited until I saw it required assembly with a M3x50mm screw, which was the only piece of hardware I did not have. Naturally the solution was to make a Print In Place version inspired by Alex_cf_Siu's design also for the K1. https://www.printables.com/model/510839-270-degree-door-hinge-for-creality-k1 The parts list for this mod is a little bit different than the original design due to the beefed up hinges for the Max. Parts and Links listed below 4x M3 H6 heat inserts 2x M3x16mm (one for top, one for bottom bracket) 5x M3x12mm (door arms & door latch) 2x M3x20mm (one for top, one for bottom bracket) rubber inserts from stock hinges (to center the glass panel on arms properly; see pics) Screws: https://amzn.to/3KuW07K Heat Inserts: https://amzn.to/3OrAodI These are the first versions I drew up in Tinkercad and they worked great as is, but I'm sure the can be improved upon. Please post your makes, reviews, and comment your experiences and recommendation for how this design could be better. Remixes are always welcome too! Enjoy and happy printing!
