Print in Place Impossible Screw Mechanism
cults3d
This is a screw toy that can be print in place as an assembly with mobile nut and screw. I call it "impossible" because the nut cannot be removed from the screw (without breaking it), and can only be assembled by 3d printing. This is meant to be a demonstration toy of how 3d printers can be used to build an assembly with moving parts. The assembly may need some breaking in before the parts move smoothly. I tried to make the clearance large enough so the parts will not fuse together while printing, but not too large so the assembly still performs like a screw and nut pair. The short version is 50mm in length and the Long version is 120mm in length. The files (STL only) are also available on Thingiverse found here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4193497.
