Print in Place Impossible Screw Mechanism

Print in Place Impossible Screw Mechanism

This is a challenging toy that can be printed in place as an assembly with mobile nut and screw. I call it "impossible" because the nut cannot be removed from the screw, and it can only be assembled by 3D printing. It's meant to be a demonstration toy of how 3D printers can be used to build an assembly with moving parts. The assembly may need some breaking in before the parts move smoothly. I tried to make the clearance large enough so that the parts will not fuse together while printing, but not too large so that the assembly still performs like a screw and nut pair. A longer version is designed to fit within 140 mm print space. To see it in action, check out this simple demo video at https://youtu.be/2xiOwk1Jh1Y.
