Print-in-place Foldable Phone Stand Version 2
prusaprinters
This phone stand can be folded into a flat pack for easy carrying. The design was made with modifications to my previous design. There were three main differences compared with the previous one, (i) a moderately beefier design to improve durability, (ii) a different geometry of the support mechanism and (iii) a moderately smaller size to reduce print time. The stand used a print-in-place design that users may print the stand in one go, without the need for assembling. The flow rate of the users' printers will affect the width of the lines produced, making variations in the gaps between parts. If the flow rate is too high, parts may stick together and the stand may not be foldable. Also, the changed geometry of the support mechanism requires support to be printed. However, generating supports on the hinges should be avoided. Hence, it is a little bit trickier to do the slicing. A sample gcode was attached for easy reference. Users may also slice the attached 3mf file to suit their needs.
