Print-E : The 3D Printed Extrusion Printer That Slides Together
thingiverse
Human is working on a 3D printed printer setup called Print-E, which features an extrusion-based design that can be built in any size, from dual Z to cantilever configurations. All components of the printer, excluding screws and electronics, are 3D printed, with the only requirement being scaling up the extrusions. To print these extrusions, users should employ a .8 nozzle at either .2 or .4 layer height and 0% infill with two walls. In a video showcasing Print-E, a 220x220 cubic heated platform is used in conjunction with an old Wanhao I3 carriage plate. The printer currently utilizes a CR-10 style hot end. Users can acquire this type of hot end from various online retailers, such as AliExpress, where they offer a full metal J-head hotend extruder kit compatible with the CR8 and CR10 printers. Future plans for Print-E include designing an E3D carriage, which will be featured in a separate video on YouTube. Additionally, an update has been made to the printer setup, incorporating an E3D Chinese clone mount that is currently only compatible with the E3D clone equipped with a Volcano hot end installed.
