Print Cooling 40mm fan
thingiverse
Here's the spun text. The cooling fan is now made from an incredible looking fan shroud. With a laser cutter at my disposal, as well as access to a workshop in Mumbai that can shape acrylic, I took advantage of their capabilities to build this cooling fan for cooling PLA prints. It remains to be seen whether this effort will lead to better results. For now, there is no upper limit on the thickness of acrylic that you purchase, although 3mm turns out to work best due to its fragility. However, 6mm should offer sufficient strength, albeit bending it proves to be challenging. This new fan aligns perfectly with my hot end, which uses a 40mm cooling unit. To make this accessory removable when servicing my printer's heating core, I rely on neodymium magnets measuring 5mm in diameter. Although I can adjust the fan up to 10-20 degrees without losing its magnetic hold, exceeding that margin would likely cause it to detach from the fan altogether.
