Good 3D printers require careful investment, but many still break quickly. Faced with this dilemma, I made one myself out of a used Pringles can. The primary structural piece measures about 245mm long, meaning you'll need large prints that might just fit your printer when rotated at a 45-degree angle. I used my TAZ 4 printer to create the pieces with ABS material. Acetone proved essential in gluing all parts together tightly. Now that we've established some basics, let's move on to the instructions: 1. Simply print and assemble according to what is shown here. When printing the knob and main rod, use very sparse infill (about 10%). For the bottom and top plates, however, you'll need solid prints. 2. If you're using ABS, Acetone serves as a perfect adhesive. For PLA prints, consider using Super glue or epoxy for stronger adhesion. 3. Next, carefully position the rod inside the base so it's snugly in place. Proceed by attaching the cap followed by the knob onto the end. First, attach the base with glue; then slide the cap down slightly and glue the knob into position at the other end. Make sure they're aligned before securing with glue at the bottom of the knob and then finally closing the lid.
