Princess Stage Coach Wheel

Princess Stage Coach Wheel

thingiverse

My kid's Princess Stage Coach took a hit when the wheel broke, so I got to work fixing it and that led me into trying my hand at 3D printing for the first time. The new wheel isn't perfect, but it gets the job done and puts a huge smile back on my little girl's face. First things first, I measured out the hub with a caliper until I was satisfied with the size and shape. After tweaking the design a few times, it snapped into place easily and rotated smoothly - success! Then I used that new hub as the anchor point for the rest of the wheel's parts. I ended up printing the wheel with supports to give it some extra strength. To make things more interesting, I went with a layer resolution of .2mm and filled 20% of the volume with infill material - it still needs some smoothing but overall it turned out just fine. For those interested in giving this project a shot themselves, I've included the original design file in case anyone wants to give it a try. Here are my print settings: Print Settings Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: .2mm Infill: 20%
