Primo EM-204 Quad Saddle

Primo EM-204 Quad Saddle

thingiverse

This is a microphone capsule saddle, designed to go inside a BM-800 donor body. It takes four Primo EM-204 cardioid microphone capsules and orients them at 90 degrees to each other. Depending on how the signals from the four capsules are used or mixed, the resulting microphone array can be used for X-Y, double X-Y, Blumlein, MS, double MS, or quad recordings. I have printed this on a filament printer but I've had better results from SLA printing. If you do print it on a filament printer, be sure to use supports and expect to spend some time cleaning the supports from the inside of the mounting rings. The base of the saddle is designed to take four small rubber grommets, similar to what you'd use to mount servos in an RC model. Depending on the tapped holes in the BM-800 donor body, two or four M2.5 screws attach the saddle to the top plate of the microphone frame.
