Creating a Character Rig in Maya In this exercise, we'll be creating a simple character rig using Maya's built-in tools. First, let's start by setting up our scene and importing the necessary plugins. To begin, open Maya and create a new project. Name it something like "CharacterRig". Once you've created your project, go to File > New Scene. This will create a brand new scene for us to work in. Next, we'll want to import the necessary plugins.
