sketchfab
LOWER FIRST MOLAR (Ingle 5, 470) A lingual radiograph will reveal: The large pulp chamber Mesial and distal roots that appear to contain a canal Distal root vertical in 74% of cases Curvature of the mesial root in 84% of cases Dental tooth inclination Hidden morphological details not visible on the radiograph: Single mesial root with two canals and single distal root with one or two canals Axial inclination of roots at -58 degrees These hidden factors will affect the size, shape, and inclination of the final preparation. At the cervical level, the pulp is enormous in young teeth and more reduced in elderly teeth due to secondary dentin formation. The chamber is quadrangular and the floor shows lines that connect the entrance orifices to the canals contrasting with white walls. The canals are almost circular in circumference at the apical third.
