Pretty Good LED Bar and Okay Fan Shroud for Makerfarm Pegasus
thingiverse
This is a kit of upgrades for the Makerfarm Pegasus with metal X motor bracket. Included is a simple 3mm LED light bar that press-fits onto the X bracket. I also included a basic 40mm fan shroud for cooling the print at the hot end. The fan shroud should work for the standard extruder regardless of the motor mount. Print Settings Printer: Makerfarm Pegasus 10 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 50-100% Notes: The little LED light covers will print better at 0.1mm. The fan mounting tab may do better at 0.1mm also. Assembly The LED bar takes three 3mm LEDs. I powered mine from the 5V and GND pins of an AUX connector on the RAMPS board. Since my LEDs are 3.1V and 20 mA LEDs, I used a 75-ohm current limit resistor on the anode of each LED. I included three little covers which you can glue over the backs of each LED to block their light. To install the LED bar, just press it up onto the bottom edge of the motor mount. The cooling fan shroud has three parts: the shroud itself, the L-shaped mounting bar, and a mounting tab. 1) Insert the tab into the shroud and glue it in place. 2) Slide the 40mm fan into the shroud's receptacle. No screws required; it should press into place with a bit of resistance. 3) The tab takes an M3 locknut. Bolt the shroud's tab to the L-shaped arm, so that the assembly will hang from the M4 nut on the extruder. 4) Remove the M4 nut on the extruder, install the L-arm, and reinstall the nut. The airflow should point under the hotend. LED Schematic
