presser foot general purpose
thingiverse
This is a rough copy of the General Purpose presser foot that came with my Brother GX37 machine. It's thicker here and there, for strength. One of them is slotted for a thread, which weakens it. Brother uses a 1/16 inch attachment wire. This is a common size of wire, about 0.06" diameter. 1.5mm is close and would probably work. The designed hole through the foot is 1/16 inch. Find something around the house, in the junk drawer, the garage, in your sewing box, perhaps a fat pin, or needle. Something stainless steel, rather than a common nail, which will eventually rust. A section of a 1/16 drill bit would work fine... Put a tiny drop of liquid resin on the wire, insert it in the hole, and cure it in the UV light. Resin solidifies and glues it in there. The print also shrinks a bit. I wanted a "clearview" clear plastic foot, so I could see and follow a line on the fabric. That got me wondering if this resin printer could even make presser feet. It can and does a good job. But this red resin is not transparent enough. I need to buy some clear resin.
