Tolerances for press-fit receptacles are crucial when hot-swapping micro switches in 3D printed mouse bases without soldering. I've thoroughly tested these receptacles and they work flawlessly, which is why I use them in my own 3D printed mouse base. The hole on the side of the print allows you to feed the positive and negative wires through; simply push the wires through and then insert the receptacle, which will secure the wire firmly in place. It's essential not to push both wires through before inserting the receptacles - just one hole is sufficient for convenience sake. Also, be sure to tilt the receptacle slightly towards the opposite direction of the wire feed when placing it, giving enough wiggle room for the wire and receptacle to align properly or risk damaging the wire by applying too much pressure.
