Inspired by AA Glasses, I embarked on crafting my own after witnessing numerous iterations - some persisted for up to three months despite the harsh treatment from an exuberant two-year-old. Here's the final design that will undoubtedly be put to good use by fellow DIY enthusiasts. Important Post-Processing Details: Carefully wield a heat gun to conform the shape of the lenses and improve earpiece comfort. A snug fit is just around the corner with a little precision heat treatment! Design Elements: The hinges are composed of two pieces of 1/16" stainless Tig rod, although I initially designed them for 1.75mm filament. A small but vital tweak will be required to create permanent hinges. A Step-by-Step Guide to Riveted Hinges: 1. Accurately measure and trim the hinge filament piece, leaving about 1/8" on either side as excess. 2. Utilize a heat gun or torch to melt a flat-bladed knife. 3. Once the knife has achieved the desired melting point, use it to create smooth, riveted connections by carefully hammering the ends of the filament. 4. The result is now apparent - perfectly secured hinges for a custom-fit design!
