Prehistoric Hunting Blind at High Altitude
sketchfab
Prehistoric hunter-gatherers in the Colorado Front Range built clever game drive systems using readily available stones to chase, trap, and kill big game like bighorn sheep, deer, and elk. They constructed dry-laid stone walls that funneled animals into intercept areas where hunters were patiently waiting in strategically placed hunting blinds surrounding the kill zone. Hunters would conceal themselves behind unobtrusive stone structures and swiftly shoot arrows or darts at unsuspecting animals passing by. This 3D model depicts a prehistoric hunting blind at a high-altitude game drive site in Boulder County, Colorado.
