Hi everyone, Having now created several of these masks, I decided to make this needed remake. Filling the joining gap after gluing the sections together can be a real challenge, and sanding down the forehead area to remove any imperfections can be time-consuming as well. So, here's a new mask that you don't need to spend hours sanding down. Falken's original design was incredibly impressive, which is why I wanted to give it a complete overhaul. To achieve this smooth look and keep the intricate details intact, there was simply no way to work within 3dsmax like I'm accustomed to. That's because this particular model features very thin areas that required extra care when modeling. The cut level has also been adjusted so the mask section's top is perfectly level now. I still have a few concerns about the nose and the loss of definition on the skull cap, which is why I've already begun working on revisions for my next iteration. After experimenting with several techniques, I found that there was no way to rework the original mesh without creating a mess. That's when I imported it into zbrush and started resculpting the entire thing using Falken's as my base - hence this remake, as he provided the foundation to achieve three key things. Here are three key benefits of this new mask: 1) The finished product is extremely smooth, eliminating the need for sanding altogether. 2) I created a full-sized version specifically for those with high-end printers, so you can rest assured that it will look amazing on your wall. 3) Because I learned how to sculpt and remodel an entire mask during this process, you can expect a few more predator masks in the near future! I've sliced and tested it but haven't printed it yet, however, the outcome will be excellent.
