This is a new battery shelf designed specifically for the HobbyKing Predator 650 quadcopter, boasting twice the size of the original to accommodate larger batteries typically used on this machine. To achieve optimal CG, the shelf utilizes an original hook and rod system, allowing for precise adjustment fore and aft. In addition, a power distribution board mount is included, compatible with any PDB featuring 30mm or 30.5mm hole centers. A ZMR CC3D board with integrated 5v and 12v BEC's serves as the platform for this design. The quadcopter's extended legs, modeled after the originals, are crafted from laser-cut plywood in the photo, but alternatives made from stiffer materials like 2mm or 2.5mm bamboo ply are being sought. Those interested in fabricating their own legs can utilize a Corel Draw file provided by the creator. Currently, the machine is disassembled as various upgrade parts, including a revised gimbal and GPS/receiver mount, are being created using 3D printing technology.
