The ancient ruins of Cuicuilco were submerged beneath a torrent of lava unleashed by the Xitle volcano's fury between 100 B.P and 100 A.D., a devastating event that may have already left the site deserted when it occurred. The meticulous work of photogrammetry, led by Dr. Felipe Ramirez, DEA-INAH, in partnership with Dr. Gerardo Gutierrez, CU Boulder Anthropology, sheds new light on this pivotal moment in history.
