Precision Piezo Mount For Ormerod 2

This is my version of the Precision Piezo mount for the Ormerod 2 with an E3Dv6 head. At first, I was uncertain if this would work with the Ormerod with the head rotating about the X axis. After a bit of fiddling, it works wonderfully. I had to keep the nozzle as close to the X axis as possible to minimize the effect of head roll and maintain sufficient sensitivity. I used the original lower part of the mount and designed an upper part that bolts onto the Ormerod X carriage. Make sure you use the version with the bearing that runs on the back of the arm, not underneath. A microswitch was added for the X homing on a small adapter plate after cutting off the homing tab. Initially, I experienced problems with the Bowden tube applying lateral force to the piezo at the end of the axis and stopping the trigger. I added the simple Bowden guide, which cured the problem. Getting the right speed of probing was largely trial and error, but once it worked, it was very consistent. The changes to config.g were: ; ********** Endstops and motors ************ ; ********** See also M558 ****************** ; M574 X1 Y1 Z0 S1 ; set endstop configuration (X and Y endstop, at low end, active high) For mech X stop ; ;***************** Z Probe Settings *************** ; M558 P4 I1 R0.8 F500 ;digital mode read from E0, NC active low, delay, speed, - Piezo Probe ; ; ******************** Probe height ***************** ; G31 Z-0.05 P100 ; Z offset, debounce interval - Piezo Probe I also created a jig to hold the piezo while drilling and it can be found at: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2834346
