Precision Focuser for RedCat 51

thingiverse

This is my bespoke precision focuser designed specifically for the RedCat 51 telescope. I scoured Thingiverse but couldn't find any focusers tailored to my scope, so I decided to create one from scratch. After experimenting with a couple of existing designs, I encountered issues opening up the C-rings to accommodate my scope's unique shape, which led me to design a focuser that utilizes half-rings instead. Additionally, I was concerned that the adjustment screws might eventually wear down the plastic tongue, so I opted for a piece of sheet metal - actually a modified nail file - as a more durable alternative. All nuts and bolts used are M3 in size. Due to the complexity of the design, I've chosen not to include the source project files, as they wouldn't scale well for other telescopes. This precision focuser is tailored specifically for the RedCat 51. (The small white block attached serves as an adapter for a red dot finder, available on Thingiverse at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3873479.)
