This precision adjustable optical endstop holder, specifically designed for Prusa printers, features an integrated Z screw constraint bearing to ensure smooth operation. To facilitate installation, triffid_hunter's bushing has been incorporated, making it simpler to ream out the slide hole. Additionally, a matching Z screw constraint clamp is provided for use on the opposite side of the printer. To assemble, begin by printing the holder and trimming any support within the bottom nut trap. Next, ream out the inside of the Endstop Mount/Glide's M8 hole to ensure smooth movement along the Z axis smooth rod. Install a 608 bearing into the provided bearing cup. Attach an optical endstop to the glide using two M3 x 25mm socket cap bolts and nylock nuts. Optionally, run an M8 or 5/16 nut partway up the Z axis screw for top constraint bearing security. Assemble the parts onto the smooth rod in the following order: Glide/Endstop mount, a 3/8" I.D. x 51/64" spring, Clamp/Bearing mount, and secure with two M3 x 20mm socket cap bolts and nylock nuts. Assemble the adjustment bolt with an M4 x 40mm socket cap bolt, M4 washer, Glide/Endstop mount, a 11/64" I.D. x 5/8" spring, Clamp/Bearing mount, and an M4 nylock nut. Adjust the clamp to its final position and tighten the clamp bolts. Secure the constraint bearing to the Z axis screw using two M8 or 5/16 nuts if desired. A matching axis stabilizer clamp is also included for use on the other side of the printer. Required hardware includes: two M3 x 25mm socket cap bolts, four M3 x 20mm socket cap bolts, six M3 nylock nuts, and six M3 washers; one M4 x 40mm socket cap bolt, one M4 nylock nut, one M4 washer; one 3/8" I.D. x 51/64" spring, one 11/64" I.D. x 5/8" spring; one optical endstop (a MakerBot endstop is recommended); and two 608 roller bearings. The included springs are from a Home Depot Everbilt #471864 assortment kit.
