Trapped between this world and the next, Shadow Dragons are neither live nor dead. Shadow Dragons were once normal chromatic or metallic dragons but have given their souls to the darkness in search of forbidden knowledge. Evil and corrupted, their very flesh de-materializes to vapor over time revealing the dried husk that once was a mighty dragon. Physically weaker than normal dragons, but vastly more intelligent, Shadow Dragons are cunning and dangerous.
