Fortaleza de São José de Macapá stands in the city of Macapá, state of Amapá, Brazil. It is part of a group of 19 fortifications up for nomination as UNESCO World Heritage Sites by Iphan/Unesco. Lying along the Amazon River, it guarded its Northern Channel. Due to its size, two separate models were created, the Revelim and the Arms Square. Our team conducted an archaeological survey outside and rescued various external defense structures.
