This statue is one of three bronze monks (praying monk Ambrosius, watching monk Bartholomeus, and waiting monk Claudius) standing proudly in the Danish King Garden, Tallinn. These magnificent sculptures are said to be inspired by the legendary monks from Denmark's rich history. According to legend, the monks prayed with the Danish king for divine intervention during a desperate battle, and it's rumored that their prayers were answered when Denmark emerged victorious while Estonia lost its freedom.
