Prankapult
thingiverse
This is a modified version of thing:1381027.\nI take a purist approach and don't believe a 3D printed object should require glue or welding if possible at all. I've modified it so the supports snap onto the base, and use C-clips to hold the supports together. I tried using split snap posts for the connection between support A and B, but layer adhesion isn't good enough at this size, and the tabs break off easily. So I added the C-Clips, which provide plenty of strength.\nThe throwing arm's orientation during assembly is shown in the first image. It's installed in that position and then wound before installing the base. Assembly follows the video at the original thing except for snapping and using C-clips instead of welding or gluing.\nI also reduced the size of the hole in the spring to provide less clearance, which reduces the chance of it spinning past the corners.\nThe ammo basket requires bridging through the hole, so inserting the throwing arm may be rough. However, it should fit. If it doesn't fit for some reason, wedging the basket on works just as well - something I did before expanding the clearance.\nWhen printing, I printed Support A, the spring/throwing arm, and C-clips solidly. I set the infill pattern and top and bottom layer patterns to "concentric" to add as much spring and minimize fracturing possibilities. Everything else was printed at a 10% infill.\nPrint Settings\nPrinter: Monoprice Maker Select Plus\nRafts: No\nSupports: No\nResolution: .1\nInfill: 100% and 10%\nNotes: 100% "concentric" pattern infill for the throwing arm and C-clips, 100% infill in any pattern for support A, and 10% on everything else seems to work fine.
