The PPSh-41, also known as "pe-pe-sha" or "papasha," is a Soviet submachine gun designed by Georgy Shpagin as an economical, dependable, and simplified alternative to the PPD-40. It is a magazine-fed selective fire weapon with an open bolt, blowback action, primarily constructed of stamped steel. The PPSh can utilize both box and drum magazines and fires 7.62×25mm Tokarev pistol rounds.
