PPM RC Transmitter to USB Wireless Dongle
thingiverse
A little project I've been working on is a compact box designed to house my RC to USB configuration in a neater fashion. With the right parts and software, a Flysky i6x (or any other transmitter that has an appropriate receiver) can communicate with a PC, allowing you to utilize your transmitter with flight simulation software. To achieve this goal, this box will contain: A USB ADC (Sound Card) from Banggood An 818CH Mini Receiver With PPM/iBus/SBUS Output for Flysky i6/i6x/AFHDS-2A Transmitter also from Banggood The receiver can be connected to the 5v and Ground pins on the sound card's USB port, while the receiver's PPM wire is hooked up to the left audio channel (the tip) of the yellow MIC connection on the sound card. I removed the headphone jacks from the sound card to create more space for wiring and make soldering easier. Once wired, SmartPropoPlus can be installed in Windows, which creates a virtual joystick device that interprets the PPM data from the receiver through the USB ADC, enabling you to use your TX as a game controller.
