PPE dental headgear
thingiverse
PPE headgear designed with extra space and distance in mind for dental gear requirements; mask, glasses, and loops are carefully integrated. Three distinct shield sizes - 11 inch, 14 inch, and 16.25 inches - can be accommodated due to strategically spaced pegs, providing enhanced wrap-around protection. Customizable hole punch templates are available for each shield size, ensuring a seamless production process. A printable design featuring three shields can also be accessed for increased efficiency. High-quality pre-cut plastic shield blanks were sourced from Tekra in 010 clear plastic. Local print shops were utilized to efficiently punch holes into the shields. Jamie Carroll of ATSU Academic Technologies collaborated with Debbie Summers of A.T. Still Memorial Library, Ammar Musawi and Akshay Vij of ATSU-MOSDOH Dental School to create this innovative design. The concept was influenced by headgear designs from Caleb Flaim at NIH and Prusa, featuring key improvements such as thicker construction, additional pegs for various shield sizes, tabs to secure excess plastic wrap-around, and rear-mounted button hooks.
