146mm Internal width is the standard size. 166mm Internal width is the XL size. To bridge the gap between these sizes, scaling is straightforward. Per local medical team recommendation, top closure has been implemented with flat side up. Hooks have been added to ears with recesses for a seamless fit of round elastic cord. Both elastic cord and elastic band can be used. EVA foam is used on the brim for forehead cushioning. A 10 inch wide x 12 inch long acetate sheet is utilized. By pulling corners slightly, the angle of the shield can be adjusted to either protrude or recede towards the chin. Testing has been conducted at a local hospital. PETG was chosen for printing due to the frequent disinfection (effervescent tablets) and reuse at hospitals. If PLA were used, it would likely be a one-time use, depending on the disinfection process employed by the hospital being donated to. A reference cart is included in the photos provided.
