PP3DP UP! mini Extruder Temperature Modification
thingiverse
This modification lets you set the extruder temperature of the PP3DP UP! mini anywhere from 197°C to 275° in increments of roughly 1.3°C. Other ranges and different steps can be achieved by using alternative resistors or resistor setups. A protective cap is included for the extruder top. This component should also fit other printers, including the PP3DP UP! Plus, Afinia, and similar models. The PT100 element measures the extruder temperature, which increases resistance by approximately 3.65 Ohms every 10°C. By inserting a 3.65-Ohm resistor in line with the PT100, the controller inaccurately believes the temperature is 10°C higher than it truly is. It then tries to control this artificially increased temperature – for instance, it'll aim to manage a temperature of 275°C instead of actually regulating around 265°C. To alter the controlled temperature, various resistances can be applied. The key point: even if you're controlling lower temperatures, the controller consistently targets 275°C (or ~225°C for PLA; 266°C for Afinia, etc.).
