This is a relatively simple enclosure for the Powerwerx SS-30DV power supply. The SS-30DV is a pretty common power supply used to deliver 12 volts DC from a 110/220v AC supply. I chose this power supply for its compact size and simplicity and I purchased it at the same time I purchased my dual-band ICOM ID-4100A mobile rig. I utilize these two units together to provide 2m and 70cm access from my home shack.

After getting these two home and hooked up, I realized how closely they are sized to one another and conceived of creating a complementary enclosure/stand system for them. I first created the wedge for the ICOM radio. That thing can be found here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2967549

Next, I designed the enclosure for the power supply. This thing is designed to mate to the underside of the model I created for the ICOM radio. I have included some pictures of the enclosure alone AND with the ICOM wedge/radio seated on top of it.

I am including .stl files for three revisions of this enclosure. Here are the details for each:

Revision 1c: This is the model represented in the pictures. There are no vents and no cable pass-through cutouts.

Revision 2: This model includes cable pass-through cutouts on the front and rear bottom lips to route any cables connected to the powerpole ports on the front of the power supply. They should permit the cables to be routed more easily underneath the power supply.

Revision 3: This model includes the cable pass-through cutouts and side vents to improve ventilation. The side vents feature 45 degree upper angles so most 3D printers shouldn't object too greatly to them.

Please note: I have not test printed revisions 2 and 3.

This model prints fine on my MakerGear M2 without rafts and without supports. I utilize Simplify3D to slice the model.

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

MakerGear

Printer:

MakerGear M2

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

0.20mm

Infill:

15%

Notes:

It is conceivable that on certain printers, supports might be needed for revision 3, due to the side vents on that model.

Category: Electronics
