UPDATE:04.07.2019 I swapped out the AmazonBasic PETG for a black version on the right extruder and took a chance by raising the temperature to 240c. The result was a noticeable improvement over the clear PETG at 235c. To unlock full control of the PowerSpec Ultra 3D printer, I had to look beyond the limited settings in PowerPrint, the software that comes bundled with it. Given that this printer is essentially a FlashForge Dreamer clone housed within a FlashForge Creator Pro body and supports Marlin-style g code, I experimented with various slicers including Cura, MakerBot Desktop/Print, Slic3R, and IdeaMaker - all to no avail. That's when I stumbled upon FlashPrint, the software that comes pre-installed on the Dreamer but is also available for free. Its export mode offers a wealth of settings not found in PowerPrint, making it an ideal choice for fine-tuning printer performance. After some simple tweaks within FlashPrint, I managed to successfully print both a 20mm cube and a benchy. For reference, I've attached screenshots of my FlashPrint settings as well as images of the finished benchy. While there are still minor imperfections, the overall quality is significantly better than what I achieved previously.
