Powered-Wheel Truggy 1/12 Scale Finished
thingiverse
I've crafted a miniature RC truck/truggy that boasts all-wheel drive courtesy of four powered wheel hubs and four brushless motors, each capable of unleashing their full fury on the track. With ample room for a compact flight controller, you can seamlessly switch between mixing and traction control modes as you take the helm, navigating even the most treacherous terrain with ease. My motor shipment has just arrived, and I'm in the midst of printing components now. Tires print remarkably well using either TPU or NinjaFlex materials, while everything else is best suited for 100% ABS or PETG, with a minimum of three perimeters and 70% infill. Estimated total weight comes in at approximately 1.2 pounds (0.55 kilos) sans electronics and battery, but add those in, and we're looking at just under 2 pounds (1 kilo). When it comes to motor hubs, there are two distinct versions, depending on where the motor wires exit the base – mine happen to be positioned to the left. The wider set of holes for motor mounting can be found at the top and bottom, so be sure to print one of each. This miniature vehicle is specifically designed for 22xx motors, with my NTM Prop Drive 28-30S 800KV units serving as a testament – they're essentially 2216 motors with a unique three-hole mounting configuration for a prop adapter. Instead of utilizing the prop adapter, I've engineered this design to provide direct mounting to the wheels, unleashing an astonishing ~300 watts of power per wheel. Given its current configuration, this RC truck is poised to reach speeds exceeding 85 mph on a 3s setup – provided it remains intact, that is. Unfortunately, we all know how fragile these creations can be, so I'd recommend opting for a 2s setup and reaping the rewards of 50+ mph and enhanced stability. I've included an updated wheel design (V3) featuring a 4-bolt pattern suitable for 3508 T-motors – keep in mind that these won't fit standard printable tires but are instead designed to accommodate 1/12 scale truck tires, such as those found at http://www.banggood.com/HBX-112-12054-Off-Road-Tires-WSponge-Inserted-For-12812-p-1029293.html. Here's a comprehensive rundown of the electronics list for version v1: * 4 x NTM 28-30S 800kv motors * 4 x FVT LittleBee 20A ESC, programmed using BLheli Suite for bidirectional usage * 1 x high-power (8Kg+) metal gear standard size servo * 1 x CC3D Atom Flight Controller with straight pins * 1 x Power Distribution Board featuring a standard 30.5 mounting setup and BEC of 5v 2A+ * 1 x small PPM or S.Bus receiver (I.Bus for Flysky) * 1 x transmitter to match the receiver * 1 x 2s 1800 mah LiPo battery capable of providing 10+ minutes of driving time.
