Update. The PLA gear failed after a week, but surprisingly it was the top portion that gave out, not stripped teeth. I reprinted with nylon 910 and so far everything is going great. If this one fails, I'll redesign the top part again. After upgrading my kids' Jeep Power Wheels to 24V, one of the final drive gears decided to quit on me. I replicated the part and printed it with PLA filament. I beefed up the portion that goes into the wheel hub after breaking the first print at that location. So far, after about a week, the gear is working perfectly fine. I'd like to re-print with nylon in the future, but so far the PLA version is holding up nicely.
