Power Tool Switch Plate

Power Tool Switch Plate

thingiverse

I designed this for my power tools, including my vintage Table Saw, Lathe and Jointer, which only use standard 120vac light-type switches instead of modern tool pushbutton switches. This is just a simple switch plate that attaches like any other switch plate does, with a paddle that fits right over the switch and slides up and down in the channel. The letters press into the face without needing glue. It holds the cover in place using 4 2mmx6mm screws. The cover might need some touch-up if the paddle is stiff to move; I used a file to clean it up a bit. For this one, I printed the paddle in ABS and the plate and letters in PETG since I didn't have grey ABS on hand. I didn't press the letters into this test model because I wanted to save them for when I print an ABS version. This was just a test to ensure everything fits together properly. Update: I recently noticed that two of the holes for the cover are not visible on the plate, but they're actually there - just under 1 or 2 layers of plastic. You should be able to easily push a screw through without any trouble. I've uploaded a corrected plate with all the holes in place.
