Power Strip Switch Safety Cover

Power Strip Switch Safety Cover

thingiverse

This is my very first Thing uploaded. My printer enclosure is a compact server rack, which I've augmented with a rack-mount power strip/surge protector to safeguard against accidental shutdowns. To avoid inadvertently turning off crucial components like lighting, cameras or fans during a late-night print session, I created this safety switch cover. Although it's not the most robustly designed piece and wouldn't meet OSHA standards, it serves its purpose effectively. The "3D" badge was adapted from this outstanding design (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2795081) by Jeremycon. His impressive work earned me a big thumbs up; I didn't even need to resize the logo! Please note that, as this is my first design, I'm still unsure if all files have been uploaded correctly; if there are any errors, please let me know so I can make adjustments right away. UPDATE 6/25/18: Following some further tinkering, I wasn't entirely satisfied with the hinge's performance, so I've uploaded a v2 version that replaces the printed pivot point with a 1.75mm thru-hole for a pin instead (I used a small finishing nail I found on my workshop floor). Feel free to check it out!
