Companies have been working on improving the efficiency of the console gaming controllers for decades. Xbox and Playstation have taken great strides to improve their design from past controllers. For example, the general shape of the controller’s grip has proven to be ergonomic and popular amongst consumers. Features such as the trigger and the joystick are now intuitive parts of virtually every controller. And yet, gaming controllers today are still inefficient. Mainstream controllers only take advantage of two fingers: the thumb and the index finger. The Power Pro changes this. While there are still some of the traditional buttons, triggers and joysticks on the Power Pro, several of the buttons have been moved to the grips of the controller. This, in effect, makes it possible for a player to use eight, rather than four, of his or her fingers while using the controller. The Power Pro draws inspiration from the both the Xbox and Playstation Elite Controllers, both of which also attempt to increase the number of fingers used in gameplay. Because of the increased flexibility of the Power Pro, players who can master different button layouts on the controller will have faster reaction times during video games that require intense focus and time management.
