Power Pod Insert for RV dash cubby
thingiverse
Many RVs lack a digital coach battery readout, rendering those three light check panels practically useless for monitoring 12V supply state. I sought a digital display that remained on at all times and was conveniently situated within easy view. Next, the USB and lighter type plugs were mounted on the passenger side of the dash, while the GPS and brake control systems were logically positioned on the driver's side. Furthermore, the existing outputs remained hot at all times, prompting me to desire the option to shut down devices when parked without disconnecting their cable each time. I discovered a set of four power modules in a mounting plate titled: "12V Car Cigarette Lighter Socket + Dual USB Port Charger + Voltmeter Panel LED" on eBay. The components were individually mounted to the plate, so I carefully removed them and created a small insert pod that would fit snugly into a cubby location in the dash.
