Innovate your sockets with additional electronics for Zigbee power metering control! With this upgrade, you can monitor energy consumption and analyze it for better efficiency. Furthermore, you can remotely switch on/off appliances from anywhere using a web dashboard accessible via all devices. This project was designed by Kris Kalinov as part of the Power Home team at Startup Weekend Sofia and won the event. For a DIY prototype, you'll need components like Raspberry Pi/Arduino, relay, resistor, transistor, diode, protoboard, and jumper wires. Use a relay circuit to connect electronics correctly and learn how to remotely control it through a web server using REST API, jQuery, and JavaScript. You can also use Agilart Runtime project for real-time data monitoring via online feeds like Cosm/Pachube. For more resources and information, visit powerhome.me or agilart.com.
