Power HD TR-4 Axial SCX10 III shift and dig servo setup
cults3d
I didn't want to use the recommended Spektrum servos, so I needed to figure out the linkages. I went with the Power HD TR-4 servos and no servo savers. I used the included long servo horns with the printed parts and adjusted the servo endpoints. The Thing file is for 1 set, you will need 2 sets to do both servos. Please note that the dig servo is mounted on the back side of the bosses. I did this to shorten the length of the standoff and firm up the action. I used longer 2mm screws to mount the servos, I think they were about 10mm long. The screws into the servo horns are the supplied 2mm servo mounting screws. The screws into the dig and shift actuators are 2.5mm. I shortened both of the actuator standoffs to line up with the linkages. The screw for the shift is the supplied, the other is, I think, about 10mm long. Don't overtighten the screws through the linkages so they can move freely. Once again, make sure the servo endpoints are set properly or you will burn out your servos. Josh at Harley Designs has a good video on YouTube on how to adjust them. Enjoy! UPDATE: I finally got the time to measure the screws I used in my installation. For mounting the servos using the tabs in the thing I used M2×12mm screws. I used the short servo arms that came with the servos and mounted the drag link in the outermost holes using M2×6 button heads screws. I trimmed down the control points on the dig and 2-speed to match where the drag links would be and used M2.5×8 button heads on the dig and M2.5×20 button heads on the 2-speed connections. Some of the included screws can be re-used in some of these locations, or Dubro and Axial have them available.
