Power Boat, Speed Boat 36"
thingiverse
Hi guys, this was my first project, I built it before posting the 26" catamaran in the background of one picture from the 26" boat. However, I initially installed some oversized motors with large Lipo batteries, but every test drive on the lake didn't go well, so I decided to scale it down for my son, resulting in the 26" project. I think the original boat was too heavy. Because of a huge response to the 26" boat, I posted this project as well. Now, I'm modifying it for single motor use. I will post videos when completed and test drives are successful. The Geico pictures are printed on self-adhesive film using an inkjet printer, then overpainted with car clearcoat. Edit: October 2, 2017 I posted new pictures and a video from the test drive, which was my first successful run. I tried two motors and two ESCs, but they were too heavy; one motor (3660, 1200W, 4300kv) with 3S Lipo burned out the 90A ESC, next motor (3650, 2025W, 5400kv) and 3S Lipo burned out the 200A ESC. This is the best solution for now: motor (3670, 1600W, 2150kv) with 6S Lipo (2pc. 3S Lipo in series) and 150A ESC. I also installed a water pump for better cooling. Now, I will try some other bigger props. Here's the video: https://youtu.be/Kx7sZdqoTDM Edit: September 11, 2018 I added the full catamaran and cockpit STL files.
