Panels in the North Palace of Ashurbanipal (668-631 BC) were carved to showcase the royal privilege of hunting lions. This panel originally belonged to a long scene, consisting of three registers, with dead lions brought in from the left, accompanied by musicians playing their instruments. A tall stand held incense, while nearby offerings on a table included a joint of meat. The king poured wine over the bodies of four lions, as attendants carried his weapons behind him. Nineveh (modern Kuyunjik, Iraq), located in Room S, Slab D-E, features an Assyrian panel from the mid-7th century BC. It is housed at the Harvard Museum of the Ancient Near East under catalog number 1891.3.54. A resin cast of a plaster copy from the British Museum, London (124886) has been photogrammetry by Zhejiang University and Mohamed Abd elaziz.
