POTY to LNB Sandwich Clamp F5VMJ
thingiverse
This may help others starting on Oscar 100 who want to use a dual feed POTY dish system: I designed this clamp to firmly secure a POTY antenna to a Bullseye LNB. It should work of course with other LNBs having a standard 40mm diameter size. A split collar wraps around the LNB. This collar will hold it in place when sandwiched against the front puck. This front puck slips onto the POTY's 22mm copper tube which acts as a waveguide for the received signal. If you feel the clip's tension does not suffice, the small screw can be tightened for added grip. Four longer screws hold the sandwich assembly in place. This is part of a bigger dish modification project. I'm printing in white PETG as it has acceptable weather resistance properties. ABS filament is even better if you can print with this type of filament. I would not trust PLA for outdoor sun exposed use. I used Allen key hex screws: Two M4 x 50mm Four M4 x 75mm One M4 x 20mm Over tightening any screw is unnecessary and may crack and damage the assembly. Double locking nuts, spring washers, Loctite ...can be judiciously used if you are worried about vibration from wind. Before final install, smear some silicone sealant around the LNB hole to avoid any ingress where the copper pipe enters. Fairly accurate 3d printing is required. If a particular LNB model feels loose inside the split collar add a strip of electrical tape to make up some thickness. 73 de F5VMJ
