Humanoid Figure: Height: 28cm Diameter: 10cm Origin: England Date: 1935 Producer: Nife Alcaline Batteries Ltd. In the early 1930s, as battery technology rapidly advanced and became more widespread, traditional petrol lamps were gradually being phased out in favor of innovative battery-powered alternatives. These groundbreaking devices, dubbed potlamps, boasted two significant improvements over their predecessors. Not only did they produce a brighter light, but they also provided a safer option by eliminating the need for flammable fuels. The potlamps consisted of two primary components: the lower section, which housed the battery, and the upper portion, featuring a reflector and a light bulb. The light source was cleverly protected by a transparent sight glass, ensuring optimal visibility and minimizing the risk of accidents.
