Potentiometer Snap Dial Knob

Potentiometer Snap Dial Knob

I'm working on a prototype that converts a potentiometer into a rotary switch. A larger component fits between the faceplate of the potentiometer and the nut holding it in place. This larger piece has a hole for a set screw, which is where the smaller part comes in. The smaller piece slides over the knob of the potentiometer, with a bump that fits snugly into the grooves of the other piece. When assembled correctly, the potentiometer snaps into one of 13 predetermined positions. This setup should allow the potentiometer to function as a voltage divider, sending electrical current to an analog input on a digital circuit.
