Potentiometer Shaft Cleaning Cap
thingiverse
A handy tool for cleaning potentiometers without disassembling your guitar or amp electronics. No more hassle of taking apart your device to access the potentiometer. Directions: Spray contact cleaner, such as DeoxIT, into the side hole and it will flow down the shaft towards the wipers inside the potentiometer. Next, give the shaft a few spirited turns back and forth to its extremes. Re-apply the contact cleaner once more for thorough cleaning and let it dry for about 10 minutes. This cleaning method is quite simple yet effective. Some retailers charge over $20 for similar products, so you know they're making a profit. A small clip is also included with this tool, allowing you to attach it to your can's tube for quick access when needed. The default STL design fits standard 1/4-inch shaft sizes. The one labeled "three-eighths inch" fits both 3/8-inch and 1/4-inch shafts, though it may be a bit looser on the smaller size.
