Potentiometer knob
thingiverse
I designed and built a custom 3D printed Potentiometer pot knob using 123D Designs software and Cura printing technology. This was my initial foray into 3D designing for printing, and it presented some challenges. The primary issue I encountered was that the inner hole of the design was printing smaller than intended. To resolve this problem, I had to increase the diameter of the inner hole by 0.3mm in order to achieve a printed size of 6mm as desired. Here are the print settings I used: Printer: Custom-built 3D printer Rafts: Yes Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 25% Notes: Print settings Brim: 20 lines Shell thickness: 0.5mm Fill bottom and top: 0.5mm Print speed: 30mm/s Temperature (extruder): 245C Temperature (bed): 100C Filament diameter: 3mm Flow rate: 125% Nozzle size: 0.5mm Knob dimensions in the 123D design: Outer diameter of knob: 20mm Height of knob: 10mm Inner diameter of hole: 6.3mm Knob dimensions printed: Outer diameter of knob: 20mm Height of knob: 10mm Inner diameter of hole: 6mm
