A potentiometer, also known as a volume control or variable resistor, is an electronic component that allows for the adjustment of voltage within a circuit. It consists of a resistive element with a sliding contact that can be moved to change the resistance value, thereby controlling the flow of electric current and ultimately the output level of devices such as speakers or amplifiers.
